ONKI
About the Project
ONKI is a hyper casual mobile game crafted within a month as a collaborative team project. Our team consisted of 3 game designers and 6 artists, pooling our skills to bring this game to life.
Gameplay
The objective is to catch fish using a hook controlled by screen taps. Pressing the screen lifts the hook (green box), releasing it brings it down. The complexity of catching varies based on the fish species; for instance, snagging a shark is more challenging than catching a carp. Fish caught are collected in the aquarium, offering players the chance to customize their aquatic environment.

Progression
Players earn gold (soft currency) by catching fish, which can be used to upgrade their fishing rod or boat. Upgrading the rod makes it lighter and more manageable, while the boat upgrades unlock new environments. Gold can also be spent in the store on character and fishing rod skins.
The Aquashop offers items that enhance the aquarium. Hard currency can be used to buy gold directly or special bundles.
Retention
The game maintains player interest in two ways. Hardcore players aim to beat their high scores and improve their gameplay. Future plans include adding leaderboards to encourage this competitive behavior.
Casual players engage in collecting all fish species, striving to beautify their aquariums.
My role
Primarily, I focused on creating efficient menus accessible with a simple thumb slide. While leveraging Unity's UI elements, I added custom animations through code to achieve the desired effects. Additionally, I designed the "Aquarium" feature, enabling fish movement between waypoints and implementing a system where purchased items appear within the aquarium environment.
